Television Presenter
Connor Phillips began his TV career working on one of RTE TV’s most watched young person’s TV programmes in Ireland - “T.T.V” (RTE2, Ireland). Whilst balancing radio and TV, Connor was invited to work with MTV during the Europe Music Awards in Belfast – presenting to an international audience live from The Odyssey Arena (SSE). Connor has worked across the UK on Sky TV’s ‘Property Search TV’ before working on one of Northern Ireland’s most watched Entertainment Television Programmes ‘The Magazine’ on UTV as a presenter and reporter.
Following Connors move to the UK on a full time basis he worked on ITV’s ‘Tonight’ Programme – the UK’s most watched current affairs TV show. After the Manchester Bombing he again took the chance to work internationally across one of the world’s biggest network’s on CNN International where he worked as a presenter and correspondent outlining how the atrocity had affected the people of the North West of England. Connor was also the host of Ireland's premier online gaming competition '3 Ireland Estars' coverage.
Connor’s television work for BBC television has included working for BBC 4's 'Tell Jokes...' series. He has presented for ‘The One Show’ on BBC1 as well as coverage for BBC Sport, on BBC News Channel, online and has also been part of BBC One's Sport Relief. He and his wife (presenter Holly Hamilton), Executive Produced and Presented 'NI Trending' for BBC One Television with Green Inc TV. Connor has been one of the lead presenters of BBC's Children In Need coverage since 2021, working on both the LIVE fundraising programme as well as travelling the country visiting some amazing projects with ‘The Best Of Children In Need’. Connor recently presented a special one off concert ‘Westlife LIVE at The Ulster Hall’ for BBC Television and BBC Radio 2. He has also presented one of BBC NI’s biggest TV talent shows - 'BBC's School Soloist Of The Year' for BBC One.
2022 was a very busy year as he also hosted the ‘Belfast Mixtape - Songs from Lockdown’ on BBC 1. Here, with some of our best loved music acts - the freedom of the City of Belfast was presented to the key workers during the pandemic - something Connor described as ‘one of the biggest honours of my career’.
As well as presenting ‘Community Life’ on BBC One & BBC iPlayer Connor has been part of BBC’s All Ireland Final presenter teams. Connor helped present The All Ireland Hurling Final to a record audience across the UK for BBC Two as well as The All Ireland Football Final across BBC Two NI and across the UK on BBC iPlayer - again to record audiences.
